The 4 "S" in wine

You don’t have to be a wine connoisseur to know about the 4 S’s in wine. Even if you know very little about wine, you probably know that there are certain steps you have to do when you are trying a glass of wine. These 4 steps can help you get the most aroma and taste out of your wine.

Here are the 4 S’s:

SEE IT. This is the basic step. Start by taking a look at the color of your wine. This part is important because the color can tell you about the aging process that was used and how old your wine is. A white wine will be darker if its older but a red wine will be lighter.

SWIRL IT. This is the fancy step. Believe it or not this step is important because as you swirl your wine it releases the aroma which helps you truly taste it.

SMELL IT. Here is where you find the scent of your wine. The scent can vary from a citrus scent like lemon or melon to darker scents like coffee or chocolate. Berry and plum are very usual in red wines also.

SIP IT. Last but not least when you finally take a sip of your wine. The most important step in helping you decide if you like it or not.
